How do I keep all my trip bookings in one place?

Short answer

Put every confirmation on one timeline, in date order, whichever site you booked on. You can do that in a document or a spreadsheet. Airflow Guest does it for you and is free to use: forward a confirmation email from Airbnb, Booking.com or a lodge's own email and it is read and placed on your trip, with the property, the dates and the host. You can share the trip with the people travelling with you.

The problem with five confirmations

A trip with several stays leaves its details in several places: an app, two inboxes, a PDF from a lodge and a message thread. Each one is complete, and none of them shows the trip. Gaps and overlaps between stays are invisible until you line the dates up.

The people you travel with have it worse. They have none of the confirmations, and they ask you where you are staying on Thursday.

How Airflow Guest handles it

Airflow Guest keeps one timeline for the trip. A booking made anywhere can go on it: forward the confirmation email from the address you signed up with, or add it on your trips page. If you are new, forwarding a confirmation creates your account and emails you the link.

When you add a booking, the host is invited to confirm the stay with you on Airflow, so dates, messages and payments for that stay can sit in the same place. A stay booked with an Airflow host comes with its own guest portal, with the balance, the documents and the arrival information.

Getting a trip onto one timeline

  1. 1

    Start the trip

Open Airflow Guest and give the trip its dates and the people travelling. No app to install.

  2. 2

    Forward what you have booked

Send each confirmation email to your Airflow Guest address. An email with several bookings in it places each one on the trip.

  3. 3

    Check the dates line up

Read down the timeline. A night with nowhere to stay, or two stays on the same night, is now obvious.

  4. 4

    Share it

Invite the people you are travelling with so everyone sees the same plan.

What to check once it is all there

  • Every night of the trip has a stay, and no night has two.
  • Each stay shows what is paid and what is still due.
  • Check-in and check-out times work with your travel between stops.
  • The details read from each confirmation are right: dates, place and number of guests.

What Airflow does not do

  • Airflow Guest does not log in to your Airbnb or Booking.com account; it reads the confirmations you forward or add.
  • Changing or cancelling a booking made on another site still happens on that site.
  • A booking read from an email is only as complete as the email. Check the dates it shows.
