Zimbabwe family safari: Victoria Falls, Hwange and Lake Kariba in 11 days (10 nights)
A three-stop family trip that starts gently and ends with a rest. The family spends three nights in Victoria Falls town for the Falls walk, river cruises and activities. They then move to Hwange for three nights of day and night drives and waterhole viewing from camp. A light-aircraft flight takes them to Lake Kariba, where the last four nights mix boat game viewing, fishing, pool time and an optional night on the water.
The route, stop by stop
1. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe · 3 nights
A gentle start: a guided walk at the Falls, a sunset river cruise and time at the pool before heading into the bush.
2. Hwange, Zimbabwe · 3 nights
The main game-viewing stop. Camps with their own waterholes and private concessions offer night drives and village or school visits.
3. Kariba, Zimbabwe · 4 nights
The slowest part of the trip, with a lodge pool, boat cruises, catch-and-release fishing and an optional night on a boat. It gives families a rest after early game drives.
