A first night in Windhoek after the flight, then north by road to Damaraland for two nights. The time there goes on guided drives looking for desert-adapted elephants and a visit to the Twyfelfontein rock engravings. The route continues to Etosha National Park for three nights, with time for several waterholes by day and a floodlit waterhole after dark. Some itineraries split these nights between two camps. The last leg returns to Windhoek for a final night before the flight home. Driving days are long, so every stop after the first night is two nights or more.
