A week in Rwanda with two bases and no gorilla permit needed. The first three nights in Kigali cover the Genocide Memorial, a market walk and cooking class in Nyamirambo, and a day trip to a rural women's weaving cooperative. A road through the hills leads north to Musanze for two nights, with the Gorilla Guardians Village, the Karisoke story and easy walks or a golden monkey trek. The last two nights back in Kigali are for the art centres, Kimironko market and a coffee class before the flight home.

Arrive by drive — By road back south from Musanze
