Mana Pools and Lake Kariba in 7 days (6 nights)
Six nights on two stretches of Zambezi water, with one flight in the middle and no road days. The trip starts with three nights at a camp on the Mana Pools riverbank, where the river is worked by canoe and motorboat and the valley is also walked and driven. A light aircraft then crosses to the Lake Kariba shore for three more nights of boating, shoreline game viewing and fishing. The dry months are the working window, when the river drops and the valley camps are open.
The route, stop by stop
1. Mana Pools, Zimbabwe · 3 nights
Three nights on the riverbank is enough to get onto the water twice a day, mixing canoe stretches and motorboat outings with the walking the valley is known for. The camps here open for the dry season, which is also when the river drops.

2. Kariba, Zimbabwe · 3 nights
The lake half changes the water without changing the pace: open shoreline instead of river channels, three nights of boat cruises and fishing, and elephants and buffalo coming down to drink within sight of the boat.
