The route then drives about two hours north to Musanze, a town below the Virunga volcanoes that is the base for Volcanoes National Park. Four nights there leave time for a gorilla trek and the hike to Dian Fossey's grave, with a spare day for rest or bad weather, before the drive back to Kigali.
