Cape Town, Madikwe and Greater Kruger safari in 15 days (14 nights)
The route starts with three nights in Cape Town and two on a wine estate in the Cape Winelands. The remaining nine nights are spent at three game reserves, three nights each. The first is Madikwe, a malaria-free reserve in North West Province reached by flying via Johannesburg to its airstrip. The route then moves east to Sabi Sand on the edge of Kruger and ends in the neighbouring Timbavati reserve. Three nights at each reserve leaves time for several game drives without a travel day in between.
The route, stop by stop
1. Cape Town, South Africa · 3 nights
Three nights leave time for Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula and the city before the safari part of the trip.

2. Winelands, South Africa · 2 nights
Two quiet days on an estate for wine tastings and walks before the early starts in the bush.

3. Madikwe, South Africa · 3 nights
A malaria-free Big Five reserve in North West Province. Its landscape is different from the Kruger-side reserves visited later.

4. Sabi Sand, South Africa · 3 nights
A private reserve on the Kruger boundary where guides can drive off-road to follow animals. It is often chosen for leopard sightings.

5. Timbavati, South Africa · 3 nights
An unfenced private reserve on the Kruger side, so the last game drives cover different ground from Sabi Sand.
