The trip starts with an arrival night in Arusha, where most northern Tanzania safaris begin. The next day the traveller heads west to the central Serengeti and stays three nights, with morning and afternoon game drives on the open plains. On the way back there is one night near Ngorongoro, then an early descent to the crater floor for a game drive before returning to Arusha. With only three bases, most days are spent in the parks rather than moving between lodges.
